Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31
Hi All
Hope you have had a good week. It has been quite a big week for me as I finished my Admin duties at Christ Church. Retirement here we come
Church Meeting
Our church meeting is on this Monday, 29th November, 7.30pm at church. The moderator will be joining us for the meeting. Please do try and come to this very important meeting in the life of Plume Avenue Church. If you are not able to come in person but would like to watch the meeting on Zoom please contact me for the link. Please though try to attend in person if possible. We will be hearing from the Moderator and also voting to co-opt Mike McCullagh, Adrian Tidbury and Dave Watt onto the eldership.
Advent and Christmas
Advent Prayer Guide – these are available in the foyer. Please do take yours and also any you can for those who are not with us on Sunday morning – they are all named.
Advent Retreat Day at church on Saturday 4th December, 9.30 am to 4pm. A time for reflection, fellowship, worship and refreshment. Lunch will be “bring your own”. Tea, coffee, biscuits and cake will be provided. We have a good number coming but if you still haven’t booked please do speak to me this weekend.
Nativity trail Sunday 5th December, 2.30 pm. Plans are going well for this. If you can help on the afternoon with welcoming please do speak to me and if you can help with refreshments please speak to Marie. Thank you to everyone who has offered to help pack goody bags.
Christingle service on Christmas Eve will be outside. Please speak to Rachael if you can help prepare the Christingle bags. If you have suggestions for or can help with this service please speak to me. If you can help with refreshments please speak to Marie.
Christmas Cards We have joined up again with Prettygate Baptist Church for this years card. Mike has done a sterling job sorting these into roads – if you can help deliver these please do take a road. Ideally they need to go out this week as they include the advert for the Nativity Trail.
Christmas Giving
Foodbank – if you have Christmas items for the Foodbank please bring these to church by 5th December. Please contact David if you need a list of items they need.
Social Services Gifts – Sheila is coordinating this again this year. Our Gift Day for Social Services will be 5th December. Please bring biscuits, chocolates, toiletries, gloves, scarves, jewellery or any other gift you feel they would appreciate. Please do not wrap the gifts so that each present can be allocated to the appropriate person. A roll of wrapping paper would be most welcome.
CAP Hampers – we circulated an e-mail about this last week. If you would like to donate to this please do so at: https://www.stewardship.org.uk/pages/ChristmasCampaignCCDC
Hope you have a blessed weekend.
Love
