May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
Dear All
Hope you have had a blessed week. We have the real joy of welcoming Rev Mark Ambrose to take our service for is this week.
We will also be bringing George and Hope into membership and the Junior Church have a special morning planned.
Gifts for Social Service Young Adults
Sheila writes “We are making December 11th our day to bring gifts which we forward to Social Services for young adults who have just left full time care and are now living in independent accommodation. These young people are struggling even more this year as the economic situation takes its toll on their lives. Gifts of toiletries, sweets, chocolates, biscuits or small gifts you feel would be appreciated will be gratefully received by these vulnerable youngsters. Please leave the gifts unwrapped so that they can be distributed to the appropriate person – sheets of wrapping paper added to your gifts would be most helpful. Let us prayerfully hold these young people up. May they feel the love that is sent with these gifts and know that others care.”
Please bring your gifts to church with you on Sunday and hold on to them until you asked to bring them to the front.
Warm Welcome Hub
The Warm Welcome Hub started last Monday and will be open on 12th and 19th December. If you are able to help please e-mail warmhub@plumeavenuechurch.org.uk with your available dates as soon as possible. Please do pray for this initiative and do come along any time between 9am and 3pm. This is a really exciting opportunity to come alongside the residents of the Prettygate community and has wonderful mission opportunities. Please do prayerfully consider giving some time to this if you can. The more volunteers we get the less pressure there will be on a small group of people.
Gladys Bessant
It is with sadness that we share with you that Gladys passed away on Monday. Gladys was a lady of incredible faith and devotion for her Lord and we give thanks she is now at peace and suffering no more, promoted to glory. The sadness is always for those left behind. Please do pray for Chris and Sue, Gladys’s daughters, and all the family at this time. Gladys funeral will be here at Church on Monday 9th January 2023 at 11 am.
Jean Moat
“All of us in Jean Moat’s family want to thank friends from Plume Avenue who helped make her funeral on Tuesday 6th so special. Thank you to everyone who came and supported us, prayed for us or sent messages of support and sympathy. Thank you also to everyone who helped in so many practical ways on the day. If any of you were unable to be with us in person, you might like to visit the website we created to commemorate this day – including photos, the readings and the hymns – sites.google.com/view/jean-moat/home. Thank you all!”
