For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life John 3:16
Dear All,
I hope you have had a good week. It has felt as though we have been on a journey this week from Palm Sunday, through Holy Week to our Maundy Thursday meal and communion to Good Friday. As we rest at the foot of the cross, as Easter people we know the joy of what Easter Sunday will bring. Until then let’s stay at that cross and give thanks for Jesus’ indescribable sacrifice made for each one of us.
Holy Week
It has been so special to gather on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings this week on Zoom to reflect, worship and pray. As this was the first year we have done anything like this, it would be good to have feedback as to whether you found these times helpful and whether the structure and content was right or if there may be other ways of doing things. Please do speak to me if you have any feedback.
Maundy Thursday
Thank you so much to all those who prepared, cooked, served, laid and decorated tables, prepared communion and cleared away on Thursday. The meal was delicious and it was so very special to gather together as a family.
Easter Sunday morning
As we gather together on Sunday to celebrate the glorious Easter Morning we will be sharing in a Café Church service. There will be hot cross buns and drinks as you arrive and during the service the children and young people will take part in an Easter Egg Hunt.
Community Easter Egg Hunt Trail
This takes place on Easter Sunday afternoon starting at 3pm at church and finishing at Prettygate Baptist Church. Everyone is invited to come and join in some fun, read through the Easter story and collect plenty of chocolate!
Thank you
A message from Fran and Simon: “A big thank you to you all for the thoughts, prayers, cards and gifts for baby Aurora and her baby box we received a few weeks ago. It really means a lot to have the support of our church family as we adapt to being a family of 4. Thank you.”
Address change for Rosina
Rosina has asked if we could share her new address with everyone: 15 Field Way, Wivenhoe,
Essex CO7 9HG. We pray that Rosina and Trevor will be very blessed in their new home.
Toddler Group
We have some really exciting news to share. From Monday 17th April we will be starting a toddler group at church. This group will meet from 9.30 – 11.30 am every Monday morning during term times. All toddlers and babies are welcome provided they are accompanied by an adult. We are incredibly grateful to Esther for heading up this new group. If you can help Esther please contact her. All official helpers will need a DBS check, if you need one please speak to Matthew, Maz, Dave or Joe. Please do pray for this new toddler group and encourage folk to come along.
