Tell the Lord how thankful you are, because he is kind and always merciful. Psalm 118
Dear All
I hope you have had a good week.
This Sunday is Palm Sunday when we will be remembering how Jesus rodeĀ into Jerusalem on a donkey to the cries of āHosannaā. Our service will also include Holy Communion.
It was such a joy this week to have the reception classes from Prettygate School come and look around the church. We set them a treasure trail, told them the Easter story and what Easter means to us as Christians and they then had an Easter Egg Hunt. They were so attentive and well behaved!
Holy Week
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings this week we will be having a time on Zoom at 7.30pm each evening to look at scripture, have a short reflection, worship song and quiet time for prayer and reflection. Each evening will be for about 30 minutes. This is open to everyone and it wonāt matter if you are only able to join us for one, two or three of the evenings.
Maundy Thursday
This Sunday is the final day to sign up for the Maundy Thursday meal. After the meal we will be sharing inĀ Communion and remembering how Jesus spent his last evening with the disciples before his death.
The meal will consist of lasagne, salad and garlic bread followed by dessert and will start at 6.30pm. There is space on the sign up sheet to add your dietary requirements. We will be asking for donations towards the cost of the meal. It would be lovely to gather as many folk together as we can for the evening which is always so special. All ages are very welcome and if you need a lift please do let us know. Please sign up in the foyer or e-mail admin@plumeavenuechurch.org.uk If you are able to help with the preparation, serving and clearing away of the meal, please contact Andrea or Kate.
Good Friday
We are joining Prettygate Baptist Church for a Walk of Witness starting at 10am at Plume Avenue followed by refreshments and a United Good Friday service at Prettygate Baptist Church which starts at 11am.
Please do join everyone for the walk of witness if you are able or join us at the Baptist church for the service.
Easter Sunday morning
As we gather together next Sunday to celebrate the glorious Easter Morning we will be sharing in a CafƩ Church service. There will be hot cross buns and drinks as you arrive and during the service the children and young people will take part in an Easter Egg Hunt.
Community Easter Egg Hunt Trail
This takes place on Easter Sunday afternoon starting at 3pm at church and finishing at Prettygate Baptist Church. Everyone is invited to come and join in some fun, read through the Easter story and collect plenty of chocolate!
