“I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” Rev 3:20
Dear All
I hope you have had a good week. This Sunday we have a café church service.
Holy Week
Next Sunday is Palm Sunday which is the beginning of Holy Week. We will be having a time of reflection on the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings during Holy Week on Zoom at 7.30pm. This will include a bible reading, short reflection, worship song and quiet time for prayer and reflection. Each evening will be for about 30 minutes. This is open to everyone and it won’t matter if you are only able to join us for one, two or three of the evenings.
Maundy Thursday
On the evening of Maundy Thursday we will be gathering together to share a meal and Communion and to remember how Jesus spent the last evening with the disciples before His death. The meal will consist of lasagne, salad and garlic bread followed by dessert and will start at 6.30pm. We will be asking for donations towards the cost of the meal. It would be lovely to gather as many folk together as we can for the evening which is always so special. All ages are very welcome and if you need a lift please do let us know. Please sign up in the foyer or e-mail admin@plumeavenuechurch.org.uk If you are able to help with the preparation, serving and clearing away of the meal, please contact Andrea or Kate.
Easter Egg Hunt
We will be making up the Goodie bags on Monday 3rd April at 10 am – please let me know if you can help with this.
Kitchen and Galley
Thank you to everyone who helped with the sort out on Monday. There are some spare crockery items available in the porch – please do help yourself.
Men’s Homegroup and Chat and Chill
Peter writes: “The next Men’s Chat and Chill, will be on Monday 27th March, 1.30pm at Church, so come along for a coffee, cake and chat.”
Trees
The Nursery have been given 100 tree saplings from the Woodland Trust. They are going to plant some of them in the church gardens but obviously not all of them otherwise we will end up with a forest! There will be a number left over and the nursery will leave these in the church porch. If you would like to take one or two of the saplings please do.
Expression
Joe writes: “Expression – This Monday!
The next ‘Expression’ is this Monday, 27th March, 7.30pm at Church. It will be led by myself, Hannah, Zara and Jill, and we’ll be exploring the Gospel themes in ‘The Lion King’. As last time, there will be a short talk led by Jill, then people will have the option to either play games with Zara, take part in a discussion with Hannah, or to worship. To help us reflect on the themes, Hannah and Zara will perform a song from the movie. There will be lots of donuts!
This is not just for youth, it is suitable for adults as well. So please do come along and support them.”
