Dear Friends,
This week announcements have been made as to what tier different parts of the UK will enter when we leave lockdown on December 2nd. Colchester finds itself in tier 2. The tier system will continue to be reviewed and will continue until further notice.
Life is proving very difficult for many people at the moment but it is important to remember that God is with us and is watching over us. We can meet with him anytime we wish and we don’t have to gather in a building to experience his presence and his power.
This week is the begging of Advent and our theme for our Advent reflections is The God Who Draws Near. Advent is a time to prepare ourselves to celebrate the coming of Jesus into the world. Why not commit to setting aside a quiet time each day through Advent to meet with God and acknowledge his presence?
This weekend we have Joe Robbins leading our worship.
We have a few notices this week:
You will be receiving a phone call in the next couple of weeks so we can discern how people have been connecting with each other and with God during lockdown. Thanks for your anticipated help with this.
You should have received an Advent guide over the weekend. If you haven’t received one and would like one please drop a message to admiin@plumechurch.org.uk
Thanks to everyone who has volunteered to deliver #LightUpPrettygate leaflets and Christmas cards around Prettygate over the next few days. We still need a few more helpers. Please let me know if you can give some of your time to help out.
Next week home groups will be running on Tuesday night and Thursday lunchtime. All welcome. Keep your eyes out for Zoom links.
Have a good week and I pray you will see God at work wherever you may be.
In his name.
With love,
Geoff.
