Ministers Letter 28/03/2021
by Liz Bird
The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! ”Hosanna in the highest heaven!” -Matt 21:9
Greetings from the Manse,
I hope this week’s letter finds you well.
This Sunday is Palm Sunday and it marks the start of Holy Week, the week when we re-member the events of the first Easter.
This year we celebrate with a sense of anticipation. Anticipation that we are nearly through the dreadful days of the virus, but also anticipation that Easter means Jesus is victorious over death. Surely that is something to be celebrated?
On Good Friday we shall be having a day of reflection called A Journey To The Cross. This will consist of six short reflections on Zoom thinking of the last words of Jesus on the cross and will culminate with communion at 6pm on Good Friday. The reflections will be broadcast at 8am, 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm and finally communion at 6pm. Each reflection will be no more than 15minutes long. Please do dip in to what you can. Zoom details and ideas to help you pray through Good Friday will be found in the booklet you’ll receive this weekend.
On Easter Day we shall celebrate with an all age online service. Please do come along and invite friends and family to come as well. We have some special guests joining us.
Finally friends, please do remember Tony Smith has Easter booklets called Why Easter available to be given out to friends and family to help them think through the meaning of Easter. Please do ask him for some and give them out accordingly.
Have a great week, do take time out to remember all that Christ has done this week and be thankful.
Have a good week.
Bless you,
Geoff Felton.
