Then the angel carried me away in the Spirit into a desert.
Rev 17:3.
Dear Church,
The Thursday homegroup have been looking at Revelation over the last few months. This week we looked at chapters 16, 17 and 18. One of the verses that jumped out at me was the above one from chapter 17. John who wrote Revelation has been exposed to some incredible vision. It has been truly apocalyptic stuff. Earthquakes, plagues, fire balls, dragons, the list could go on. At this point in chapter 17 he his taken away from the situation in to a desert place to look at what is going on in the world. Here he is given a vision and told what is happening. He had to be taken to a place where there was little or no distraction in order for him to understand what was going on.
I think there is an encouragement here for each of us to step outside our daily routines, to check in with God and wait on him in quietness and free from distractions. How are your times with God going at the moment? Are you checking in with him regularly? Are you spending time seeking him out? Are you resting in his presence not just going to him to ask for stuff? I want to encourage you this week to embrace steeping out of your routine and seeking God intentionally and prayerfully. See what happens, you might just be surprised.
We continue to gather on a Sunday and it is great to see people back in the building. It is really safe and we have made it as welcoming as possible. Please do book in to come along.

Church meeting
Church meeting will take place on Monday 28th June. We have made the decision to have a hybrid version of church meeting in order to include virtual members and members in the flesh. Please do prioritize this meeting and come along. As a church member we really value your input to these meetings. If you are not yet a church member you are most welcome but you cannot vote in the meeting.
Marie Forsythe is standing for election to the eldership. Please do pray for her as she voluntarily offers herself to serve in the church.
The other elders who are up for re-election are:
Dave Anderson, Dave Canning, Rachael Coombes and Liz Bird.
Have a good week.
God Bless you and keep you.
With much love,
Geoff Felton.
