But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.
-Jude 20-21
Dear Friends,
According to my records this is week 61 of letters to the church during lockdown. This week marks a mile-stone. We gather together in the morning for the first time since the world was changed by Covid last year.
I am delighted we have the ability to start meeting together in safety, albeit in a slightly different manner. If you would like to join in for any of the future services please do drop an email to services@plumeav-enuechurch.org.uk and book your place. Space is limited and we can only accept a handful of people at the moment.
As we celebrate our ability to meet together in safety can I encourage you to pray for those who are unable to gather for fear of arrest, persecution or contracting Covid. Remember those in Israel/Palestine and pray for the peace of Jerusalem, pray for those in India and remember our brothers and sisters in China and other countries where persecution is rampant. Lord have mercy.
There are quite a few important notices to pass on this week so please do read on and discover some of what is happening at Plume.
Graham Brown’s Funeral
Due to current restrictions this service is only limited to close family and invited friends, however we will be streaming it from the church for you to watch if you would like to join the family. Please visit the church YouTube channel on Monday 17th at 12pm to view the service. More details and a link will be circulated nearer the time. Please continue to pray for Sylvia and the family.
Elders Matters
Tony Smith has stepped down from eldership in order to focus on his calling as an itinerant evangelist. We would like to thank Tony for the time and gifts he has brought to the eldership. We pray he sees much fruit from the work that he is stepping into.
In June we shall hold our AGM and we shall be looking for new elders. Please read the document about elders that is attached and if you are feeling called to eldership or if you feel someone in the fellowship would be a good elder please do speak to one of the current serving elders to suggest their name.
Church Membership.
Thank you to those who have responded to the membership course initiative. We shall be running the two session membership course in the next few weeks. If you are interested in becoming a member and would like to sign up for it please speak to either Geoff or Adrian Tidbury for further details.
God Bless you and keep you.
With much love,
Geoff Felton.
