May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
Dear All
Hope you have had a good week.
Gifts for Social Service Young Adults
Sheila is organizing this for us again this year and writes “We are making December 11th our day to bring gifts which we forward to Social Services for young adults who have just left full time care and are now living in independent accommodation. These young people are struggling even more this year as the economic situation takes its toll on their lives.
Gifts of toiletries, sweets, chocolates, biscuits or small gifts you feel would be appreciated will be gratefully received by these vulnerable youngsters. Please leave the gifts unwrapped so that they can be distributed to the appropriate person – sheets of wrapping paper added to your gifts would be most helpful.
Let us prayerfully hold these young people up. May they feel the love that is sent with these gifts and know that others care.”
Warm Welcome Hub

The Warm Welcome Hub starts on 5th December and has been advertised around the community.
If you are able to help please e-mail warmhub@plumeavenuechurch.org.uk with your available dates as soon as possible.
Sue Watt will be drawing this rota together for which we are very grateful.
If you have any questions or suggestions please do let us know.
This is a really exciting opportunity to come alongside the residents of the Prettygate community and has wonderful mission opportunities. Please do prayerfully consider giving some time to this if you can. The more volunteers we get the less pressure there will be on a small group of people.
Ladies Retreat Day
All those who signed up for the retreat day should have received an e-mail during the week. If you have not or have yet to respond please speak to me today as we need to order the food for the day. Jill Ball has kindly offered to sort out our transport arrangements for the retreat day to Assington on 10th December. She writes: “The retreat day at Assington will soon be here. It would be great if we could all travel together, where possible. If you are able to offer a lift, please fill in the sheet with your name, how many you can take and where you live (Prettygate, Stanway, Town etc) so we can
try and match people who live near each other. If you’d like a lift, please write your name and where you live (Prettygate, Stanway, Town etc) so we can find you someone close by to take you.
If you’ve already made arrangements with someone, check with them first before putting your name here so we don’t double book anyone!”
Men’s Chat and Chill
Our next meet will be our last of the year and so we thought we would have a Christmas breakfast!
It will be tomorrow, Monday, November 28th, 9.00ish at the Harvester in Stanway. Please speak to Adrian if you would like to go.
Nativity Trail
This takes place on 11th December. We need people to help with the refreshments – so far no-one has come forward. We will also need some help with packing goodie bags for this. Please let me know if you are able to help with either or both of these.
Advent and Christmas.
The Advent Prayer Guide is available this weekend. There is a reading, reflection and list of folk to pray for each day. During Advent, all those who have indicated they are happy to have their names included should appear in the guide.
This year we have a Nativity Russian doll for our Posada – we need families to take the doll on a Sunday, take the doll out and about during the week and take some photos which will need to be sent to me at admin@plumeavenuechurch.org.uk by 4pm on the Saturday of your week. If you would like to take a turn please do let me know.
On Friday 16th December we will have a Christmas Buffet lunch from 12.30pm. If you would like to come, please sign up on the sheet in the foyer by 11th December. There will be a basket for donations towards the lunch and the Sumup card reader will be available.

Sunday mornings 18th December and 1st January
Originally we thought we would not have services on these mornings. However, at our Elders’ meeting on Monday evening we decided we will have services. If you are able to steward, be the elder on duty, lead prayers or serve refreshments please do let Jo know.
This week
This week is a Homegroup week. The Tuesday group will meet on Zoom and everyone is welcome. We will have the usual prayer meetings on Wednesday and Saturday, both at 9.30am. The Zoom details for all of these will be sent out early in the week.
With love and blessings.
