Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31-32
Hi All
As I was praying earlier this week I was given the above verse. I found it such an encouragement and had a sense that there were many who needed to be reminded of the ‘Hope’ we have in our Lord. Many folk are struggling with some significant health and family issues, many are feeling quite uncertain about their future, many have big changes in their lives on the horizon. Let us hold fast to the promise in the verses in Isaiah – we do have hope and we do find strength in the Lord if only we would invite him in. The world feels very turbulent and full of anxiety and anger. I know many are struggling with the situation about not having a minister. Let us remember that the head of the church is our Lord, He loves the Church, He loves us as individuals. Let us return that love by rediscovering our first love – our love for our Saviour and Lord and our love for His Church. Let us encourage one another and walk together as we each journey through our own personal trials and difficulties but also as we journey through together seeking how God wants to build His Church here at Plume Avenue.
During the week you should have received two e-mails – one concerning the Covid guidance for the church and the other reminding us that this weekend our Sunday morning service is being led by our youth.
The #LiveLent: Embracing Justice booklets are available – if you did not pick your copy up last week please do so this weekend. If you see an envelope for someone you could deliver to, please do take it.
We have some dates for your diary for our Easter weekend:
Maundy Thursday 14 April
We will be sharing a simple meal together in the evening, Communion and then, hopefully following the example of Jesus and his disciples, we will go out into the church gardens to worship. If you can help with the meal, please do speak to Andrea or me.
Good Friday 15 April
We will be having a joint service in the morning with Prettygate Baptist Church here at Plume Avenue after following the cross between the churches.
Easter Sunday 17 April
We will have a family service for all ages in the morning with an Easter Egg hunt for our children and young people.
In the afternoon we hope to join with Prettygate Baptist Church for a joint Easter Egg trail (similar to our Nativity trail). If you can help with this please do let me know.
We remain open on Saturday mornings between 10 and 11am for Foodbank donations. Next Saturday, 5 March, we will also be having a Coffee and Chat time from 10 – 11am. Do feel free to come along and have a cuppa and chat if you can.
Hope you have a really blessed weekend.
Love
