Liz’s Letter 20-02-2022
by Liz Bird
Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:3,4
Hi All
Well what a week of weather! I do hope and pray that you have all stayed safe and have not had too much damage to your homes and gardens.
This week’s storm is a reminder to us how fragile the world is and how we desperately need to do more to look after it. After the service on Sunday I will be sending out a document of resources for you to consider choosing something from for Lent. Within the document are some ideas about what we could take up/give up for Lent which would help us consider the stewardship of God’s earth. We also have a Lent booklet: #LiveLent: Embracing Justice for every household and one for the children and young people.
A number of people have commented how wonderful it was to hear the three testimonies during last Sunday’s service, thank you again to Audrey, Jill and Rosemary. If you have a testimony you would like to share of how God has moved in your life or how He has answered your prayers please do let me know so that we can include these stories within our services.
We have our Elders’ meeting with David Sebley on Monday evening and would value your prayers for this.
On Tuesday evening we have our Bible Study Home group to which everyone is welcome to join. We will meet to pray together as usual on Wednesday and Saturday mornings on Zoom at 9.30 am. Please do try and join us if you can.
Hope you have a safe and good weekend.
Love
