The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace. Psalm 29:11
Hi All
Hope you have had a good week. Autumn is certainly here but how beautiful is God’s creation in all the amazing leaves.
Sundays
This Sunday (24th October) we are delighted that the youth are taking the service at 10am.
Next Sunday (31st October) we will be welcoming back to Plume Avenue an old friend in Rev Nigel Moat (Jean’s son).
Shoeboxes
If you are looking for a fun activity to engage with your children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews this half term, why not think about gathering things together and packing a shoebox (or two) for Operation Christmas Child? Boxes and leaflets are available in the church porch – do speak to Pam Soames if you need any advice. We will be praying a blessing over the shoeboxes on Remembrance Sunday (14th November) at our All-Age service.
Advent and Christmas
Don’t forget to start your creation for the Art for Advent display on the theme of “Light in the Darkness”. This is for all ages and abilities. Items need to be submitted by 26 November. Please do speak to me if you have any questions about this.
On Saturday 4th December we will be having an Advent Retreat Day at church. This will start at 9.30 am and is a time for reflection, fellowship, worship and refreshment. Lunch will be fish and chips or bring your own. Tea, coffee, biscuits and cake will be provided. To book your place e-mail admin@plumeavenuechurch.org.uk or contact me.
Next Week
Next week we have:
Bible Study Homegroup on Zoom – Tuesday 7.30 pm
Prayer meeting on Zoom – Wednesday 9.30 am
Zoom links have been sent out.
Please note there will be no prayer meeting on Saturday 30th October. We won’t be open for Foodbank donations on 24th or 30th October but if you have donations please bring them to church on Sunday mornings and place them in or next to the green box in the porch and they will be taken to the Foodbank.
Hope you have a blessed weekend and week.
Love
