The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name.
When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honour them. I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation”. Psalm 91
Hi All
The first thing to say is a massive thank you to everyone who helped with the Synod day last weekend. We have had thank you letters from the Moderator and Synod Clerk thanking the church for all we did. People left in the afternoon saying they had enjoyed their day – never before have I heard anyone say they “enjoyed” a Synod day. Thank you to all those who worked so hard. What a team!
Lifts to church
We could still do with a few more offers to provide lifts to church for some of our wonderful ladies who otherwise can’t get to church. Please do pray about this and speak to Andrea if you can help.
The Future
We had a very good and helpful meeting on Monday with Rev David Sebley, our interim moderator. Please do continue to pray for the process and the elders meetings and gatherings on 1st, 2nd and 6th November and the church meeting on Monday 15th November.
Advent and Christmas
We have some exciting new ideas for Advent and Christmas this year. Please pray for us as we begin to develop these ideas. We will give more details in a couple of weeks time but please do pray for the preparations.
On Saturday 4th December we will be having an Advent Retreat Day at church – please do put this date in your diary.
Also for Advent we are looking to gather creative works, whether that be drawing, painting, needlework, stone painting, photography, poetry… Please do consider submitting something for the Art for Advent display which is on the theme of “Light in the Darkness”. Items need to be submitted by 26 November. Please do speak to me if you have any questions about this.
Prayer Meeting
Please note there will be no prayer meeting on Saturday 30th October.
Hope you have a blessed weekend.
Love
