The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. Psalm 28:7
Hi All
I’ll be honest I am not quite sure how to start this letter this week. It feels that so much is hanging in the balance now with the huge increase in Covid infections. I know many families are already changing their Christmas plans and of course we as a church family have had to change some of our plans. It really was a devasting blow to have to move the Carols by Candlelight service to being on-line only. This time last week we were planning and looking forward to a more “normal” Christmas together – what a difference a week can make!
Let us not lose sight though of the promises we have in God. The problems and uncertainties we find ourselves in this weekend and this Christmas are but temporary. The promises we have in God are eternal – promises of Hope, Peace, Joy, Love and Eternal Life! Emmanuel – God is with us! Through the uncertainty, through the doubts, through the struggles He is here with us. One day we will look back on these times and give thanks that God saw us through. My prayer is that you will hold on to the words above from Psalm 28 – The Lord is our strength and our shield.
Many folk are asking what can I do? The one thing we can all do is pray! So let’s get on our knees, let’s find that quiet corner, let’s take a walk in the fresh air and let’s get praying!
Our plans for the Christmas period are very much open to change at the moment. We will consider them at our elders’ meeting on Monday evening. Do look out for e-mails and Facebook posts – for those who do not have access to either of these we will contact you during the week by phone. Whatever we decide to do, our decisions will be based on our love for one another and keeping each other safe.

Elders
The elders will be meeting tomorrow, Monday 20th December with David Sebley – please do pray for them as they prepare for this meeting.
Hope you have a blessed and peaceful weekend.
