Open for me the gates of the righteous; I will enter and give thanks to the Lord.
This is the gate of the Lord through which the righteous may enter.
I will give you thanks, for you answered me; you have become my salvation.
(Psalm 118:19-21)
Hi All
Happy New Year to you! I pray that 2022 will be a year full of many blessings for you, your family and all those you love and for our church family too.
We will gather in church and on-line for our service this week. We would ask those who are coming into church to wear a face covering, observe social distancing, use the hand sanitiser and do a lateral flow test before coming. We will be ensuring the building is well ventilated whilst we gather.
Going forward we will continue to meet together in church and on-line each Sunday unless the guidelines change.
Thank you
A huge thank you to everyone who has helped with our Advent and Christmas services and activities. We have made some special new memories and trialled some new and different ways of doing things. In total we gave out 127 goodie bags to the children who attended the Nativity trail and Christingle service.
Activities
Most of our normal activities will resume week beginning 9th January, including our fortnightly bible study homegroup which will continue to meet on Zoom on alternate Tuesday evenings. Our prayer meetings will continue from this week and links will be sent out for the Wednesday and Saturday prayer meetings early in the week. We will open the church for Foodbank donations on Saturday mornings from 10 – 11am.
Hope you have a blessed and peaceful weekend. I leave you with the following words for encouragement.
Love
God Knows / The Gate of the Year
And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year: “Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown.” And he replied: “Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the Hand of God. That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way.” So I went forth, and finding the Hand of God, trod gladly into the night. And He led me towards the hills and the breaking of day in the lone East.
How do you “put your hand into the Hand of God” and let Him lead you this year? It’s not by doing better, it’s by believing better. It’s by trusting that “God knows. His will is best”
Commit this year to knowing Jesus better through reading and studying His Word. When you know Him better, you will love Him more and you will find peace in Him.
Commit this year to entering into deeper communion with Jesus through prayer. When you commune with Him more, you will find rest in Him.
Commit this year to remembering all that Jesus has done for you and all that He has given you. When you remember Jesus, your mind will be transformed and God will faithfully conform you more and more to the image of His Son.
As you enter the gate of the year let this be your prayer:
Open for me the gates of the righteous; I will enter and give thanks to the Lord.
This is the gate of the Lord through which the righteous may enter.
I will give you thanks, for you answered me; you have become my salvation. (Psalm 118:19-21)
