Love the Lord, all his faithful people! The Lord preserves those who are true to him, but the proud he pays back in full. Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord. Psalm 31:23,24
Dear All
What a special week it was to have Daniel with us. Daniel always bring such enthusiasm and passion when he speaks. Hopefully you received the e-mail about the funding for the school in Kenya (see below).
We will be using the Thy Kingdom Come Prayer resources as a church, starting on May 26th. Every household has an envelope of resources – these are available today, please do take yours and anyone you can deliver to.
Next Sunday, 22nd May we welcome back Rev David Sebley to lead our service.
Our Wednesday and Saturday morning prayer meetings will be on Zoom at 9.30 am.
Hope you have a good weekend and week.
With love and blessings.
Dolphin School Kenya
During the week we sent out an e-mail about the Dolphin School we support in Kenya. Primary Schools in Kenya are now required to provide education for a further two years up to the age of sixteen. To give better opportunities to all children, the government have now extended the time children will stay at primary school. Plans have been drawn up for a new two-storey building that can ultimately provide four extra classrooms. The plan allows for the ground floor to be built first and the extra floor to be added at a later date.
We are asked to consider making donations towards this project. We continue to provide financial support to the Great Commission Trust projects through our tithe fund. We are now making an appeal for those in the church family to consider giving a financial donation to provide for the school extension. Please do pray about this and if you are able to give please make a bank transfer to the church bank account and mark up the donation reference as “Dolphin and your surname and initials” eg “Dolphin – Bird E”. For those who are able to Gift Aid contributions, we will be able to claim the Gift Aid on your contributions. The church bank account details are:
Bank: CAF Bank Ltd Account name: Plume Ave URC Sort code: 40-52-40
Account no: 00006934 Reference: Dolphin and your surname and initials
If you would prefer to pay by cheque please make cheques payable to Plume Avenue URC.
Annual General Meeting and Eldership
Our Annual General Meeting will be held at Church on Monday 20th June at 7.30 pm. At this meeting we will be looking to potentially elect new elders to join the leadership team. If you feel there is someone you would like to suggest for eldership, please speak to Liz or one of the current elders, please do not speak to the person themselves about this. It would be good to increase the number on the leadership team. Elders don’t have to be elected just at the AGM, they can be elected at any church meeting during the year. For guidance on who is called to eldership, do read Titus 1:5-9
