Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand
Hopefully you have received the letter we sent about the vacancy, eldership and immediate needs and vision. If you did not receive this please do let me know and I will send you a copy.
This Sunday we will be focussing on Remembrance. We will hold an Act of Remembrance at 11am and will be blessing the shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. This is an All Age service and individuals from across the generations will be taking part. We do hope you will join us.
Next Sunday we are delighted that Tim Abbott from CYO will be speaking and Joe will be leading our service.
Advent and Christmas
Don’t forget the Art for Advent display on the theme of “Light in the Darkness”. This is for all ages and abilities. Items need to be submitted by 26 November. Please do speak to me if you have any questions about this.
On Saturday 4th December we will be having an Advent Retreat Day at church. This will start at 9.30 am and is a time for reflection, fellowship, worship and refreshment. Lunch will be “bring your own”. Tea, coffee, biscuits and cake will be provided. To book your place e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or contact me. I would be grateful if you could book before 26 November so that I can ensure we have sufficient resources for everyone.
Thank you to those who have already volunteered for to help with the Nativity trail which takes place on Sunday 5th December. I am delighted to say that our Mission Grant application made to the Mission Committee of the Synod has proved successful for the Nativity Trail and our Christingle event and we will be receiving £1,249. We will need lots of help with this – please do let me know if you would be happy to help both in the preparation and/or on the day itself.
Our Christingle service will take place on Christmas Eve and we are planning to hold this outside! If you would like to join the musicians for our Carols by Candlelight service and you play an orchestral instrument, please let me know. We will be recording the backing tracks in December for singers and the congregation to use in the service.
Coffee and Chat
Our next Saturday morning Coffee and Chat will be on Saturday 20th November (next week), from 10-11am at church. Do let me know if you would like to come so that I can ensure we have enough coffee and biscuits!
Hope you have a blessed weekend.
