Liz’s Letter 08/08/2021
August 8, 2021 by Liz Bird

Pour out your spirit that we will have a garment of praise rather than spiritual despair.

Hi All
Over the last week, many of us have engaged with New Wine. The teaching and worship have been such a blessing and it has really felt that some of what was shared was almost uniquely for us as a church family. At the end of New Wine I submitted the following to the stories@newwine:
Thank you Lord and thank you New Wine
We have just entered a vacancy period with our minister moving to a new post and are just beginning to start to gather together on Sundays. These last few days have seen us gather together across the generations from New Wine Kids, Luminosity and the Celebrations sessions all being screened in Church. We’ve seen the children be creative and receive words from Jesus, heard our youth worshipping together with drums and seen many adults come together each session to receive from God as they worship and hear the bible teaching and talks.
We’ve shared fish and chips and picnic lunches and saw the church safely gathered on Sunday morning together – praise the Lord! As we restart from small things we look to the Lord for great things to come. This has been such an amazing and blessed few days and so timely for us as a church family. Thank you Lord and thank you New Wine
God has really blessed us over this week and we have a great deal to think and pray about from all we have heard and experienced.

Prayer meetings
Just a reminder the Wednesday morning prayer meetings will continue throughout August but the Saturday morning sessions are taking a break until September.

Homegroup Bible Study
Our next Homegroup Bible Study will be this Tuesday evening starting at 7.30pm. Our next series will be looking at the RightNow media resource on Psalm 23.

Who do I contact?
Attached to this letter this week is a sheet entitled “Who do I contact?” which will hopefully point you in the correct direction for who to contact about differing things.
If you have a pastoral concern please do contact one of the elders or Andrea – you may find it easier to contact Andrea or myself initially as we tend to be a bit more available during the day.
One thing we would all ask is that unless it is an absolute emergency everyone respects that Saturday is the day when most of us like to have a “day off” and we would also like to encourage folk not to make phone calls after 9pm during the week (unless it is an emergency). Hope you will appreciate the need for us all to have some “space”.

Sunday morning broadcasts
Just a reminder that our services will be shared on YouTube as from this Sunday. You can find the services at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGIhUBtqZJ5NuHZE47F8RWw
Hope you have a great weekend.
Love
