Dear Friends,
Welcome to the third Sunday in Advent. This week Joe Robbins will be helping us to explore ‘the God who draws near through others’ and will be thinking about John The Baptist.
Throughout the Bible God uses individuals to show he is there. In the Old Testament we have the prophets, we have Jesus in the New Testament and at the crossroads of both we have John The Baptist. He was the one who was to prepare the way for the promised Messiah.
We now live in post New Testament times but God is still in the business of using people to remind us he is here. It may be good friend, home group leader, a church leader or a member of our family. Keep an eye out this week and see who God is using in your life to remind you he is near.
Here are some notices for the coming weeks …….
Please note there will be no morning services on Sunday 20th or Sunday 27th. Instead we will join together on 20th at 6.30pm for our Carol Service. Please do invite friends and family to come along.
We would also like to encourage you to join us on Christmas Day at 10am for our Christmas Communion. Please bring your own bread and wine. This will be a time for all the family when we remember with joy that Jesus’ life went beyond the manger.
If you live in Prettygate please take part in #LightUpPrettygate by sending a photo of your home/doorway/drive to lightupprettygate@gmail.com you can then receive a Christmas goody bag containing lots of fun things to help you celebrate Christmas.
