Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. Ex 14:15
Dear Church,
I’ve never noticed the above bible verse before. It’s one of those ones that hide away in the depths of a familiar story and then all of a sudden jump out at you when you least expect it. The context is Moses and the Israelites who have just fled captivity in Egypt. The Egyptians however have changed their mind and are now on the lookout for revenge. They want their slaves back. The Egyptians chase down the Israelites, the Israelites panic and go to Moses and Moses tells them God will sort it out. He still doesn’t know how but he has the faith to encourage them into believing. God then speaks to Moses with the above words. It’s like he’s saying, ‘stop beating about the bush (Excuse the pun) and get on with it’! As I’ve reflected on this verse it has challenged me to think sometimes God just wants us to move on, not to cry out in anguish, not to look back at the past, not to ask questions constantly but just get on with being the people of God, now as we know we should. My hope this week is that each one of us can move on and follow God wherever we may find ourselves and live faithfully for him.
It’s great to have a crowd back in church and if you are nervous about coming back to the building can I please encourage you to come along to one of our services in the next couple of weeks. These services have less people in attendance and it can give you a sense of what it feels like to be back in the building with other people around you. Numbers are strictly limited at the moment so there are no big crowds.
If you’d like to join us for a service please do drop an email to

Pray for the Government this week who have some difficult decisions to make in response to opening up the nation whilst trying to keep Covid under control.
Elders Matters
This week we shall share with you the name of an individual who is standing for eldership. Please do log on at 10am for news.
Church meeting
The Church meeting will take place on Monday 28th June. We are not sure if this will be virtually or in person. It all depends on any issues the Government may raise when they reassess the country. Please watch this space. We shall try and make it as accessible as possible.
Church Membership
We have ten people who are currently exploring Church membership. Please do pray for them and give thanks to God for them as they look at deepening their commitment to God through the local church here at Plume.
God Bless you and keep you.
With much love,
Geoff Felton.
