Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. – Col 3:2
Greetings in the name of Christ,
You may think that I’ve made a mistake because the Bible verse at the top of the letter re-mains the same as that of last week. I can promise you it is intentional.
Last week I finished with the encouragement to keep your eyes on the things of eternity and to place your hope win Christ.
How has the week been? Did you manage OK or did the things that worry continue to crowd in? Keep going and don’t lose heart, there’s a lot going on at the moment. The apostle Paul often talks about persevering and this is a time for us all to persevere and to trust God.
There has been a lot going on in the last few weeks at the church and there continues to be much happening in the coming weeks.
On Monday 8th Feb we shall have the funeral of Jean Bartram. Please do pray for her family especially her son Nigel and daughter law Deborah as they say farewell on Monday.
Last Wednesday we were led by James Swabey as he helped us to consider Hearing Gods Voice in A Global Pandemic. That session is available as a video if anyone would like it. The second session is this Wednesday and you are most welcome to attend. The session will be a little more directly speaking about how to hear God in our current circum-stances. The meeting will be on Zoom and details will be circulated early this week.
Having reviewed the prayer meetings we have decided to keep them going twice a week on Zoom until Easter. Please do join us as they are a place of fellowship as well as testimony and prayer.
Both home groups meet this week, one on Tuesday night at 7.30pm and one on Thursday lunchtime at 12.30pm. You are welcome to attend either or both!
Finally, a quick reminder to keep in touch with the person below you in the church directory and give them a ring to see how they are.
May God Bless you this week and may you know his presence in your life.
Geoff Felton.
