The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace. Psalm 29:11

Hi All
We have just returned from a special week away up in Norfolk. We couldn’t have asked for better weather which gave us plenty of opportunity to appreciate God’s amazing creation as we looked out to sea, drove through some beautiful autumn colours and marvelled at the star lit skies. We have so much to be thankful for don’t we?
This Sunday
This Sunday we are blessed to have Rev Nigel Moat to lead our service.
Elders meetings
This coming week is quite significant in the life of our church family. On Monday evening the elders and Joe will have their monthly meeting. On Tuesday evening, the elders and Joe will be meeting with the Synod Moderator, Rev Lythan Nevard, the Synod Pastoral Committee Convenor, Rev Paul Ellis and our Interim Moderator, Rev David Sebly to discuss the way forward for us as a church and into the vacancy. On Saturday the elders and Joe have an awayday (at church). We will be joined for the day by David Sebly and in the morning by those who have served as elders previously in our church. Do please pray for these meetings.
We will be sharing the outcomes at the church meeting on 15th November.

Advent and Christmas
We are now formulating plans for our Christmas services and events. We will be combining with Prettygate Baptist Church for a Nativity Trail around the neighbourhood. More details on this will follow and also details of our Christmas services and events.
Don’t forget the Art for Advent display on the theme of “Light in the Darkness”. This is for all ages and abilities. Items need to be submitted by 26 November. Please do speak to me if you have any questions about this.
On Saturday 4th December we will be having an Advent Retreat Day at church. This will start at 9.30 am and is a time for reflection, fellowship, worship and refreshment. Lunch will be fish and chips or bring your own. Tea, coffee, biscuits and cake will be provided. To book your place e-mail admin@plumeavenuechurch.org.uk or contact me.
Next Week
Next week we have:
Prayer meetings on Zoom – Wednesday and Saturday 9.30 am
The church will be open for Foodbank donations next Saturday, 6th November from 10 – 11am,
Hope you have a blessed weekend and week.
Love
