Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9
Dear All
This Sunday
Just a reminder that our morning service this week will start at 9.15 am so that we can stream the Sunday morning New Wine celebration. There will be no stream to YouTube this Sunday. For those who find the thought of 9.15 am a little early – there are some breakfast croissants, doughnuts, muffins and other goodies available to have with coffee.
New Wine
Breakfast croissants, doughnuts, muffins etc will be available before the Saturday morning session (today 29th July).
The Saturday evening session (this weekend) has Gary Haugen speaking. He is the CEO for IJM.
The final New Wine session for Week A is on Sunday evening at 7.00pm.
On Wednesday evening this week (2nd August), Pete Greig is speaking at New Wine Week B. We plan to screen this in church at 7pm for all those who would like to hear him.
Next Sunday, 6th August, there will be space in the service for folk to share testimonies and stories of anything they have experienced or heard from the Lord during New Wine or indeed in recent months. Please do let me know if you would like to share something so that we can allow sufficient time in the service. If you can’t be in church on 6th August we can arrange for you to share at a later date.
Youth Drop in
Joe writes “We are aiming to start a ‘drop in’ youth club for the local community. We will be running a small trial of this from September on Mondays, straight after school, initially for a limited number of young people from within the church and the wider community. The idea is that when the trial period is over, we will open it up to more young people in the wider community living locally, as part of our mission as a church. By showing Jesus’ love, we aim to provide a safe space for young people to build healthy relationships with their peers, and safe adults. We want to see lives transformed, equipping them to make healthy life choices, regardless of background or circumstance.
We would appreciate your prayer support for this for funding, community interest, volunteers, resources, safety and God’s leading.”
If you are interested in being involved or supporting the project in any way, please speak to Joe.
Men’s Breakfast
We are holding a Men’s breakfast on Monday August 14th, 9.30, at the Harvester Restaurant in Stanway. We have invited the men from Tiptree to join us for some fellowship to build future links.
Please let Peter or Adrian know if you are able to come along.
Summer Mondays
Our first session on Monday went well – it was so exciting to start this new venture with the children.
The sessions are for 5-11 year olds, the toddler group will be running alongside the Summer Monday sessions and there will be Coffee and Cake.
If anyone is able to come along and help with the toddler group this Monday (7th August) it would be very much appreciated.
On Monday 14th August we need one more person to help with the tea and coffee – if you are able to help please let me as soon as possible,
After the service this week, it would be good to have some help to set up the holiday club and toddler area.
This is such an exciting opportunity to welcome children and their families over the summer. Please do pray for this holiday club.
Satellites
A number of our youth are off to Satellites on Friday morning (4th August). Please do pray for them, for the leaders, the cooks and all who are going to support them. We pray that they will all have a wonderful time and real encounters with the Lord in new and exciting ways.
Fantasy Football league
Stewart Bird has organized a fantasy football league again – he writes:
“Fantasy Premier League 23/24 went live today, I have renewed the United by Football League so if you fancy your chances then go and start creating your squad. Feel free to share with anyone you know you think would be up for a fun challenge. League Code is owb65o.”
This week
There will be prayer meetings on Wednesday and Saturday mornings at 9.30 am. Zoom details for each will be e-mailed early in the week.
With love and blessings.
