Liz’s Letter 30/01/2022

Let us not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:25
Hi All,
How good it has been to see some beautiful sunrises and sunsets this week – such a reminder of the power and beauty of God’s amazing creation.
There are a couple of dates to share for your diary:
Sunday 13th February – on this Sunday we will be having a service of testimony at our usual 10 am start time. There is no plan to have a sermon that morning but to leave space for folk to share their stories of how they have experienced God’s love through the church or through someone of the church family. Please do think about the story you may have to tell, it doesn’t matter how old it is or how short it is. Please do speak to me if you are willing to share your story that morning.
Sunday 5th June – Big Jubilee Lunch/Street Party/Community event – this will be our main event of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and we would really like to open our gates to the local community. If you would like to be involved with the planning for this or have any ideas or suggestions please do speak to Andrea or me.
The elders have set aside time to spend together praying and working through the various vision responses on Saturday 2nd April.
We are planning for how we may journey through Lent together and into Easter. Please do pray about this.
Also for prayer this week, please do remember our interim moderator Rev David Sebley. He is such a blessing to us – please pray for safety as he travels back and forth from Braintree to Colchester for various meetings and also for time to spend with his family. We thank Christ Church Braintree for enabling David to fulfil this role.
Please also remember Joe as he continues his time with YouthScape this week.
Hope you have a really good weekend.
