Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Psalm 107:1
Dear All
This Sunday we have our monthly All Age Café service at 10 am.
Call to prayer
We are calling the church to a day of prayer on Saturday 10 February 2024 from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm. This will include prayer for a new minister. A group of us are putting together the resources, some of which will be based on 24/7 Prayer resources. Five years ago a similar day was called and a café was available in the foyer which we hope to be able to do again for people to come and chat and share with the leadership team. The day will be an opportunity for you to drop in and stay for as long as you like. The Saturday morning prayer meeting on Zoom won’t take place on 10 February. On Sunday 11 February the prayer stations will be incorporated into the service.
Holiday Club 2024
We are starting to think about what may be possible in terms of putting together a holiday club this summer. As you may remember last year, we had four consecutive 2 hourly sessions each week, attended by around 20 children with a mixture of bible talks, crafts, games and songs. If you think you may be able to help in some way, please can you let me know (coombesrachael@gmail.com). We intend to set up a meeting over the next few weeks with those who are interested to think about potential plans. Your prayers for this would also be appreciated! Thank you, Rachael Coombes.
Youth Worker Grant Application
The youth worker grant application has been submitted to Synod this week – please pray that it will be well received and supported.
Drop –in update
Kate writes “The Drop-in now sees a number of ‘regulars’ and we have been encouraged by feedback from parents and carers about the positive impact this is having on some of the young people during the rest of their week. We are also grateful to the fellowship for your prayers and the help given in moving the chairs on a Sunday. You are helping to make a difference!”
Prophetic words, scripture, pictures and testimonies
It is so exciting when God speaks to us in specific ways through words, scripture and pictures. If during a service you receive something and feel you would like to share it with everyone, please do speak to the person leading the service. Equally, if you receive something during the week or have a testimony you would like to share, please do let me know so that we can include it on a Sunday. It is so encouraging to hear how God is working through people’s lives and sharing these things brings glory to His name so please be encouraged to do so.
Try Praying
Kathy writes ”As part of The Gathering in Vienna in November 23(24/7 prayer conference?) we listened to various seminars. Tucked away at the end of one seminar was a man speaking about this little booklet and the movement that has grown up around it. It is an invitation to try praying for seven days and see what happens. If you go on the website you can get a leaflet free or you can read it online. I would encourage anyone to use it and then lose it to someone else outside church. It’s a really gentle short booklet that may start a relationship with “someone you know who needs Jesus” and God. Enjoy. www.trypraying.org “

New Wine
I have the tickets for those who have asked for them for the next North Essex celebration on 10th February at 7pm at Lawford Church (CO11 2JX). There are still some tickets available so it is not too late to book. John Coles is coming to speak – he was booked for the last gathering, but had to drop out due to illness (and Paul Harcourt kindly stepped in at the last minute).
Also, don’t forget that Refresh is happening in the summer: 14 – 16 June 2024. A chance to meet, pray, worship, and receive together from God. This takes place at Vauxhall Christian Trust, Great Wenham. You will be able to either book the accommodation available, camp or bring a caravan. There will be those of us who decide to be daily delegates and return to the comfort of our own beds! Rev Malcolm Macdonald will be speaking at the weekend, he is the vicar from St Mary’s Church, Loughton. More details coming soon! With love and blessings.
