The Lord will keep you from all harm he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. Psalm 121
Dear All
Hope you have had a good week. Next Sunday 28th July, our service will start at 10.30 am and we will be streaming the New Wine celebration. There will be no YouTube stream that morning.
Fish and Chip Lunch
We have had to change the date of the Fish and Chips lunch to Saturday 10th August. If you would like to join us please sign up in the foyer – the various options and prices are on the sign-up sheet.
Holiday Club
Booking forms should have been in by Friday 19th July but if you are still to return yours please bring it to church on Sunday and give it to Jo or Liz.
New Wine
We are streaming the New Wine morning and evening celebration sessions again this year. The first session is 25th July starting at 7pm. We will then stream the morning (10.30 am) and evening (7 pm) celebrations daily from 26th – 30th July other than Monday morning (29th) as we have holiday club at church that morning. Coffee may be available for some of the sessions.
Gathering together in church to worship and hear the teaching has been a real blessing to many folk over the years. Do join us for any of the sessions you can.
Fellowship Fund
During the Covid-19 pandemic we set up a Fellowship Fund to help those who were struggling financially. The Fund receives donations from members of the Church Fellowship and is administered by Marie Forsyth, Rosemary Peck and Jon Potterton. Names of those in need can be given to any of these three people who through prayer and discernment arrange for payments to be made. The group is accountable to the Elders but names and amounts remain confidential to the fund administration team. To date, 14 different donors have contributed since 2020 a total of £3,988 plus Gift Aid claimed of £765. We also received an Essex County Council grant of £650 which was to be used specifically during the pandemic.30 gifts have been allocated totaling £5,030.
Since the Covid-19 pandemic ended, we have kept the Fellowship Fund open in a restricted Fund in the accounts and issued payments to help those in need.
The value of the Fund has now decreased substantially through donations being made so we feel the time is right to ask those in the fellowship who can, to prayerfully consider making a donation into the Fund. You can do so by setting up a payment to the church bank account and using a reference “Fellowship Fund”. The bank account details are:
Bank – CAF Bank Ltd, Account Name – Plume Ave URC, Sort Code – 40-52-40.
Account no: 00006934.
Alternatively, please feel free to donate also by cash in an envelope marked Fellowship Fund placed into the offertory box or by card payment via David (Bird).
Toddler Group
It has been a joy to see the Toddler group grow over the year and we thank Esther for all the time and effort she puts into this. Esther would really like some help going forward for people to come and support her and chat with the parents and grandparents who come. This has become a really special and important way to connect and reach out to young families. If you would like to offer to help or would like to know more about this please do speak to Esther.
Summer Devotions
As the summer holidays approach, Joe is preparing a devotions pack for young people. Each week, the pack will offer a unique devotion and activity centered on the theme of God’s promises, designed to be engaging at home. The pack will be available next week and can be used by everyone.
Bible Journaling
As we will be streaming the New Wine celebration on Saturday 27th July there will be no Bible Journaling session that day, although anyone attending is welcome to journal away during any of the celebrations. Jo will be organising a date sometime in August for a Bible Journaling session.
Prayer
Please do pray for the following:
Holiday Club – this takes place on Monday mornings from July 29th to August 19th. Please pray for the children who are coming, that they will have a fun experience and encounter with God, the leaders and those helping in the café area where parents and grandparents will stay.
Satellites – some of the youth are attending Satellites, a Christian youth festival, from the 2nd – 7th August at the Royal Bath Showground. Please pray for their encounter with God, the cultivation of strong friendships, enjoyment of the event, and for the leaders who will be supervising them. Also for the cooks and those driving the group to and from the festival.
New Wine – pray that as we gather, potentially with visitors from other churches, we will be blessed with encounters with God and energized through the teaching, worship and ministry.
This week
There will be a prayer meeting on Wednesday 9.30 am. Zoom details will be e-mailed early in the week.
.
With love and blessings.
