Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Col 3
Dear All
We start this week with the wonderful news that Sabrina and Matt Nash have a baby daughter, Lily Pamela who was born on Monday. We send our congratulations to them – please do continue to pray for them.
Harvest
Our Harvest thanksgiving Sunday is next week, 24th September.
During the service we invite you to bring gifts for the Foodbank. We will distribute their latest shopping list of needs during the coming week. Please bring your donations to church on 24th September when we will have a time to bring them forward (shopping list attached to this letter).
We are also going to share a meal together after the service. We need some help with this. Please e-mail admin@plumeavenuechurch.org.uk if you are able to offer to help.
The sign-up list for the meal is in the foyer – please sign up this Sunday. The menu is ham, cheese, jacket potato, coleslaw and salad followed by fruit crumble and custard/ice cream. If you are able to make a crumble please tick the appropriate column on the sign-up sheet. We will be asking for financial donations to cover the cost of the meal.
Church Meeting
There will be a church meeting on Monday 25th September. The agenda will be circulated this weekend.
Youth Drop in
Please do pray for the Youth Drop in which starts this Monday, 17th September. We were very thankful to receive various grant money which has enabled the necessary equipment to be purchased.
Ladies Retreat Day
Calling all ladies – the Advent Retreat Day at Assington Hall has been booked for 9th December. Please do put the date in your diary. There is a sign up sheet in the foyer – places will be on a first come first served basis. The day is likely to cost £10 per head – to secure your place we will be asking for a £5 deposit. I know some ladies are away at the moment, do let me or someone else know if you would like to come to the retreat day and we will sign you up.
I’m in the process of asking someone to come and lead the day for us – watch this space!
New Wine
The local New Wine network has two dates for your diaries. On Saturday 18th November there is to be a celebration evening at Lawford Church. The speaker for the evening is John Coles. We will put a sign-up sheet up in the next couple of weeks for folk to register their interest in coming and to enable us to car share.
The second date is the weekend of 14-16 June 2024. The Vauxhall Christian Trust Campsite and facilities at Great Wenham have been booked for a local New Wine weekend. There is space to camp, cabins for those who prefer four walls and a bed and also the option to join the weekend as a day visitor for all the sessions.
Please do put these dates in your diary.
