“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25
Hope you have had a good week.
This Sunday we welcome Rev David Sebley, our interim moderator from Christ Church, Braintree to lead our service. Hope you will be able to join us either in church or on YouTube.
Next Saturday, 22 January, we have the joy in seeing Jo Barnard and Steve Edwards get married. Please pray for them and their family as they prepare for this special day. In normal circumstances everyone from church would have been welcome at the church. However, sadly because of Covid and the limits on those in the church buildings, it will not be possible for anyone other than the invited guests to attend the wedding. I know Jo and Steve would have loved to have had all their friends from the church join them but instead please do remember them at 1pm.
Joe is preparing of the first part of his sabbatical leave which he is due in 2022. For the first three week session, he will be on placement at Youthscape in Luton. We are really grateful to Youthscape for enabling this to happen and look forward to hearing about and seeing all that Joe experiences as he applies it to the Youth work at Plume Avenue. Please pray for Joe as he prepares to start on 23 January and for the youth team here at Plume Avenue who will be leading all the youth activities whilst Joe is away.
Just a reminder that the church continues to be open on Saturday morning from 10 – 11 am for Foodbank donations.
And finally, there is still some straw left in the porch – it would be great if this could all be gone early this week so that it is not there for the wedding. Please do help yourself or take it to someone who might be able to make use of it.
I think that is all the news for this week – links for the Wednesday and Saturday prayer meeting will go out early in the week.
Hope you have a good weekend.
