Lent 2025
Lent started on Wednesday, 5th March. There are Lent booklets available for each household called “Living Hope”. There is also a booklet for the children and young people.
Living Hope invites you to explore the hope God offers us – not wishful thinking, but something real, robust, alive. Each week it considers the idea of hope from a different angle as we journey with Jesus on the road that leads to the cross – and beyond, to the transforming hope of Easter Day. The adult booklet offers daily Bible readings, pictures, short reflections, prayers and practical ideas to help you grow in hope and in faith during Lent.
For those who prefer to access the book on line there is an app available. Everyday Faith is now available to download for iOS and Android. If you already have the Watch & Pray app installed, you will automatically get the update.
The Children and Young People’s version gives for each of the 40 days of Lent a daily challenge to do, learn or think about. There are also weekly themes, prayers and short Bible readings – all exploring the theme of Living Hope.
If you did not collect your copy last Sunday please do take it this weekend. If there are some on the table for those who are not in church and you are able to deliver these that would be really helpful.
Synod Day
Thank you to everyone who has been putting in so much effort to prepare for the Synod day. At the time of writing the day is yet to happen – please do pray as people travel to Colchester from all over the Synod on Saturday 8th March.
Church Meeting
There will be a church meeting held on Monday 24th March starting at 7.30 pm. Everyone is very welcome to attend and participate – should there be a need to vote on anything then this will be for those who are church members.
Prayer before the morning services
We are aiming to gather together to pray at 9.45 am each Sunday with those who are leading and taking part in the service, Please do feel free to join everyone to pray in the music area.

This week
There will be prayer meetings on Wednesday morning and Saturday morning at 9.30 am. The Bible Study homegroup is meeting this week on Tuesday 11th March on Zoom. Zoom details for these will be e-mailed early in the week.
