Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Dear All
It feels like there is a lot to share this week so here goes!

Harvest
Thank you to everyone who helped with the service and lunch last week.
Thank you also for the generous harvest gifts which enabled us to take 193 kg of produce to the Foodbank, enough to help just over 10 families for a week. Thank you also for the financial donations which have so far amounted to £403.75 (including Gift Aid).

Church Meeting
At the church meeting on Monday we shared the news that Synod have agreed to us exploring being a joint pastorate with Tiptree. More details about this will be in the minutes of the church meeting but please do contact me, Dave A or Marie if you have questions.
We also shared the news that our three co-opted elders, Mike, Adrian and Dave W, will be standing down after a year with the eldership. We are immensely grateful to them for their commitment to helping us out and for their wisdom at our meetings. Going forward we intend to invite those who head up the pastoral, finance and children’s work to our meetings on a quarterly basis.
We also discussed the potential of opening up the church during the week to provide a warm space for people to come to as part of the Warm Welcome initiative. If we are to do this we will need some volunteers to be at church and also others to provide tea and coffee. It may be good to start small on one day of the week. If you are interested in helping please speak to me asap.

Ladies retreat day
This is on Saturday 10th December at Assington Hall. The day will be led by Charity Quin and promises to be a very special day. Places are limited and there is a sign up sheet in the foyer so please sign up quickly if you would like to come. There will be a suggested charge of £10 per person to cover the costs of the day.

Afternoon cakes, scones and tea.
There is an opportunity to meet together at church for afternoon cakes, scones and tea on Tuesday 11th October at 2.30pm. If you would like to come please sign up in the foyer.

There will be the normal Zoom prayer meetings on Wednesday and Saturday this week, both at 9.30am. This is also a homegroup week including the Tuesday evening homegroup on Zoom – the Zoom details for this will be sent out early in the week.

With love and blessings.
