If you love me, you will do the things I command. I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper. He will give you this Helper to be with you forever. The Helper is the Spirit of truth. John 14:15-17
Dear All,
Hope you have had a good week.
Vacancy Update
Last Sunday it was great to be able to announce that the Tiptree leadership team, our leadership team and the candidate looking at becoming our next minister all agreed to proceed to the next stage of the process. The candidate and their family will come to Colchester and Tiptree over the weekend of 28th and 29th September to meet the congregations of both churches and take a service on the Sunday in each church. This date is at the request of the candidate. We will not be announcing who the candidate is or where they come from until nearer the time and we will not be able to broadcast the service to YouTube that week, nor upload it after the service has finished. We will also not be able to share anything on social media about the vacancy and would ask that everyone does likewise so that when the time comes we will be able to preserve their identity until a call is given and accepted to be our minister.
Bible journaling
Jo has offered to be at church on the last Saturday of each month (starting this Saturday 25th May) and provide resources and refreshments for those who would like to come and spend some time bible journaling. Do speak to Jo if you would like more details.
Tiptree walk and picnic
We would love you to join us on 27th May (Bank Holiday Monday) for a bring your own picnic at Tiptree United Reformed Church. Doors will be open from 12.30 pm. Under 16s should be accompanied by an adult.
For those who want to there will also be an opportunity to walk part of the way there. We will meet at St Peter and St Paul’s Church in Birch at 10 am to begin the walk. You’ll need to be prepared for lots of mud, and able to walk long distances. Please speak to Joe Robbins or Kate Chyc if you’re interested in joining us!
Could you help?
We are in need of more volunteers to help serve tea and coffee on Sundays. If you could join this rota please do speak to Jo.
Also we are in need of more Junior Church teachers. If you would like to know more about this please speak to Rachael. You do need to be a church member to be a Junior Church teacher and hold a current DBS certificate.
Prayer for the Elections
With a General Election being called for 4th July we are urged to pray for fair and honest campaigning on all sides and for the process. 24/7 have produced a resource entitled “Pray for Elections”. This was circulated by e-mail during the week and also uploaded to the church Facebook page. There are also some copies in the foyer. Please do pray for the Election and especially for understanding and acceptance of everyone’s views.
This week
There will be prayer meetings on Wednesday and Saturday mornings at 9.30 am. Zoom details will be e-mailed early in the week. Our normal weekly activities will be taking a break this week as it is half term and tomorrow is a bank holiday
.
With love and blessings.
