Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
Dear All,
Our service next Sunday 1st FebruarySunday will be an all-age Communion service and a church meeting. It will include opportunity for discussions on the Church Vision. It is hoped that the children and young people will be able to contribute to these discussions. A leaflet outlining what Andrew shared last Sunday will be available during the week to aid these discussions.
Colchester Winter Warmers
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this last week. 14 full bags of donations were taken to the Foodbank – they were very grateful. There was a really good response from across Colchester which has led to NEST(North Essex Support Team) saying they are unable to take more donations. Please do pray for those who will be sorting things through and those who are in need of these items this winter.
Bible Journaling
Our first bible journaling session of the year is on Saturday 31st January, 10am-12pm.
For those who would like some inspiration of verses to journal (you are of course free to do your own thing!), suggested verses for January are:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
And/or
Perhaps you were born for such a time as this. Esther 4:14
We’d love to see you at this fun and informal session, no experience, skills or equipment required!
Do speak to Jo for more information.
Toddler Group
Sarah writes “Our Monday morning baby and toddler group has grown massively recently!
It is wonderful to see so many new local mums and children join us, but to keep things running smoothly and safely, we really need a few more hands on deck.
We’re looking for volunteers to help with:
• A warm welcome: Chatting with parents and making them feel at home.
• Refreshments: Making tea and coffee for the grown-ups, and preparing the snacks for the little ones.
• Tidying up: Helping clear away snacks and toys.
There is no long term pressure, even if you can only help once a month or on the odd occasion, we would love to have you.
This is such a vital outreach for our church.
If you’d like to support us, please come and have a chat with me after the service!
Thank you! Sarah”
