Liz’s Letter 23/11/20225
November 22, 2025 by Liz Bird

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever Psalm 131

Dear All,

Church Workday
Peter writes “We are having a clear up day on Saturday, November 29th.There will be plenty of jobs to do as we cut back and clear a number of areas in the paddock that have become overgrown.
We are very grateful that Matt will be there to advise us and will have a heavy duty chipper to help in removing the waste. We will also be tidying up the inside of the church premises.
Please come along and feel free to bring along your own tools that you feel comfortable using.
Let me know if you are coming along on admin@plumeavenuechurch.org.uk so we can have enough food. Start is at 10.00 and will be going ahead regardless of the weather, hopefully the sun will be shining on us all.”

Bible Journaling
The next journaling session will be an advent session on 6th December. No experience, artistic skills or equipment needed, coffee and cake provided, chat and friendly welcome guaranteed! Do speak to Jo for more details or any questions you may have.

Men’s group
The Men’s group activities are on Mondays at Plume Avenue 13.30 – 15.00. The dates are:
Chat and Chill          Home group
1 December              15 December

Nativity trail
This takes place on Sunday 7th December starting here at Plume Avenue as a joint venture with Prettygate Baptist Church. It starts at 2pm and finishes at 4pm. We will need people to help serve refreshments and also by coming and chatting with folk. If the weather is bad, the whole event will take place at Plume Avenue. Please let me know if you are able to help.

Advent Sunday Lunch
Esther has kindly offered to organize a jacket potato lunch to follow the morning service on 30th November. There is a sign up sheet in the porch – please use this to denote your chosen fillings, whether you can help provide a dessert to share and also if you can help. Please sign up by 22nd November. We will need a number of folk to help on the day for the lunch to be able to take place. There will be crafts for those who like to indulge!

Christmas Decorations
We will be decorating the Church for Christmas on Friday 5th December from 7pm. Please do come along and join in – seasonal refreshments will be available. All ages are very welcome for an evening of fun, food and chatter as we decorate.

Prayer meetings
If you are available on Wednesday mornings or Saturday mornings at 9.30 am, please do consider joining the prayer meetings on Zoom. These are special times to join together to pray and it would be wonderful to have more people join us. There is no pressure to pray out aloud if that is what concerns you!

This week
There will be a prayer meeting on Wednesday morning and Saturday morning at 9.30 am.
Zoom details will be e-mailed early in the week.

With love and blessings
