Liz’s Letter 22/03/2028
March 21, 2026 by Liz Bird

‘But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.’ Jude 20 & 21

Dear All,

Prayer Day

Our Prayer Day is next Saturday (21st March). The church will be open from 9.30 am to 4 pm for you to come and go as you please and engage with the prayer stations in the church or simply sit and pray and reflect. There will be refreshments served in the Creche – we hope this will enable the church to be a quiet space for prayer. Please do try and come to some part of the day – prayer is so important to the life of our church and also of course to each one of us as individuals.

Easter 2026

2pm Easter Egg Hunt with Prettygate Baptist Church starting here at Plume Avenue.

Bible Journaling
This is just a reminder that next Saturday (28 March) there is a bible journaling session at church from 10 am – 12 noon. You don’t have to be an artist to enjoy this and get results – many of us are far from being artists. Please do speak to Jo Barnard-Edwards if you have any questions or would like to know more. Refreshments are available and there will be some basis sheets to get you going if you have never done this before.

Out of the Box
Are you involved in children’s work, youth work, school work (paid or voluntary), all age services,
prayer, leading devotions for meetings?
The Synod Children’s Mission Practitioner will be running a taster evening for the Out of the Box
resource here at Plume Avenue. This will be on 29 April at 7pm. Everyone is invited to attend this
Taster Session – it would be great to have a good number of folk to hear and explore how this
resource can be used in so many settings. If you are interested in coming to the taster evening
please sign up in the foyer.

Gifts Course
We are going to be running the Spiritual Gifts course called SHAPE starting 22nd April at 7pm. This course will run fortnightly and will help you to identify your:
• Spiritual Gifts
• Heart’s Desires
• Abilities
• Personality
• Experience
that you can use for God’s Service.
For those who have done the Spiritual Gifts course at Plume Avenue previously, this is a different course to the one we have used before. Most of us are very aware of our own strengths and weaknesses and so lack confidence in our Christian lives. We need to discover more of our gifts and strengths, the way God has shaped us and what we have to offer! Please do prayerfully consider signing up for the course. The sign up sheet is now in the foyer so please do add your name if you would like to attend so that we can produce the correct number of resources. If you have any questions speak to Liz, David or Marie.

Men’s Group
Dates for Chat & Chill and Homegroup are as follows:
                  Chat & Chill         Homegroup
                  March 9th            23rd
                 April 6th B.H.       20th

This week
There will be a prayer meeting on Wednesday morning and Saturday morning at 9.30 am on
Zoom. The Tuesday evening Bible Study Homegroup will meet at 7.30 pm. Zoom details will be e-mailed early in the week.

With love and blessings,
