Holiday Club
Bookings are now open to open to all children who have attended school in the 2023/24 school year from reception to year 6. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Details of the holiday club are available on the booking forms in the church porch. Please return your completed form(s) to Rachael, Jo or Liz by Friday 19th July.
New Wine
We have received confirmation today that New Wine will be streaming the morning (10.30 am) and evening (7 pm) celebrations during New Wine conference which takes place 25th – 30th July. We hope to be able to stream all the sessions (other than the Monday morning session on 29th as the church will be used for the Holiday Club).
Our Sunday morning service on 28th July will use the streamed Sunday celebration which starts at 10.30 am. Coffee will be available from 10 am.
Gathering together in church to worship and hear the teaching has been a real blessing to many folk over the years. Do join us for any of the sessions you can.
Fellowship Fund
During the Covid-19 pandemic we set up a Fellowship Fund to help those who were struggling financially. The Fund receives donations from members of the Church Fellowship and is administered by Marie Forsyth, Rosemary Peck and Jon Potterton. Names of those in need can be given to any of these three people who through prayer and discernment arrange for payments to be made. The group is accountable to the Elders but names and amounts remain confidential to the fund administration team. To date, 14 different donors have contributed since 2020 a total of £3,988 plus Gift Aid claimed of £765. We also received an Essex County Council grant of £650 which was to be used specifically during the pandemic.30 gifts have been allocated totaling £5,030.
Since the Covid-19 pandemic ended, we have kept the Fellowship Fund open in a restricted Fund in the accounts and issued payments to help those in need.
The value of the Fund has now decreased substantially through donations being made so we feel the time is right to ask those in the fellowship who can, to prayerfully consider making a donation into the Fund. You can do so by setting up a payment to the church bank account and using a reference “Fellowship Fund”. The bank account details are:

Bible Journaling
As we will be streaming the New Wine celebration on Saturday 27th July there will be no Bible Journaling session that day, although anyone attending any of the celebrations is welcome to journal away during any of the celebrations. Jo will be organising a date sometime in August for a Bible Journaling session.
Word from the Lord
Many of you will remember the Father’s Love letter which was published some years ago. If you don’t here is a link to it: https://www.fathersloveletter.com/ . We believe we have received a similar compilation of scriptures from the Lord for us as a church and as individuals here at Plume Avenue. This was shared with the leadership team earlier this week and we feel that it is right that we share it with everyone. Please do read it, pray into it and ask the Lord what it is saying to us as a church and as individuals.
The Word:
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.
He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,
You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
So rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things. And the God of peace will be with you.”
