We have a copy of the J John book “God with us” for each household. If you did not collect yours last week, please do take it this week.
Bible Journaling
The next journaling session will be an advent session is this Saturday, 6th December. No experience, artistic skills or equipment needed, coffee and cake provided, chat and friendly welcome guaranteed! Do speak to Jo for more details or any questions you may have.
Nativity trail
This takes place this Sunday, 7th December starting here at Plume Avenue as a joint venture with Prettygate Baptist Church. It starts at 2pm and finishes at 4pm. We will need people to help serve refreshments and also by coming and chatting with folk. If the weather is bad, the whole event will take place at Plume Avenue. Please do try and support this event – it has so much opportunity to meet and talk to our visitors.
Social Services Gifts
Our Gift Sunday is this week, Sunday 7th December. Please bring your gifts and wrapping paper to the service. Please do not wrap your gifts as this will be done by the organisers so that the appropriate gift is given to each person. Suggested gifts are biscuits, chocolates, toiletries, adult colouring books, in fact anything that brings joy. Please contact Sheila if you have any questions.
Christmas Cards
There are a number of piles of cards which need delivering to some of the local roads. We have taken fewer of the cards this year to deliver, Prettygate Baptist Church have taken the majority. Please consider taking a pile to deliver this week to homes, They are on the table in the porch. Thank you.
Prettygate Schools
We had the joy and privilege to go into the school for a whole school assembly on Monday morning to share the story of the first Christmas. This Tuesday we have the two reception classes coming into church. Please do pray for this Tuesday.
Church Workday
Thank you to everyone who helped in the gardens, tidying the church and cook bacon rolls last Saturday. It is great to see the church looking good!
Advent Lunch
Thank you to everyone who prepared, cooked, served and cleared away our lunch last Sunday. It was great to be able to share together.
Pledge forms
Three weeks ago, everyone in the church family should have received a letter explaining the church financial situation and also a pledge form. You should also have received an e-mail with a leaflet “Church Finances Explained” Please do continue to pray about how you may be able to respond to the letter and return your pledge form this week, Sunday 7th December. Thank you.

Prayer meetings
If you are available on Wednesday mornings or Saturday mornings at 9.30 am, please do consider joining the prayer meetings on Zoom. These are special times to join together to pray and it would be wonderful to have more people join us. There is no pressure to pray out aloud if that is what concerns you!
