Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Psalm 27

Dear All
I hope you have had a good week. This Sunday is Trinity Sunday and our service will include Holy Communion.

Annual General Meeting
Just a reminder that the Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday 12th June 2023 at 7.30pm. At the meeting we will review 2022, elect elders and look ahead to the future for Plume Avenue Church. The current serving elders will be standing for re-election for a further 2 years. Our Interim Moderator, Rev David Sebley will chair the meeting for us. We do hope you will be able to attend the meeting, if you require a lift please do let us know.

Baby Box
Please do remember there is a baby box in the foyer for donations of gifts for young George Samuel Swabey. We will present this to Sarah, David and George early in June.

Church Membership
Some folk have asked about church membership. If you are not yet a member and would like to explore this, please do speak to me or Dave or Marie.

Fellowship News
It was with sadness that we learnt that Brenda Kelly and John Pitts, both of whom worshipped regularly with us in years gone by, have passed away. Brenda’s family were very much those who live in Lychgate House and we remember the staff and other residents there. John leaves a number of family, including his 92 year old mum, 5 children and twin brother.
We do give thanks for the lives of Brenda and John and pray for their family and friends at this time,

Coffee and Cake
As from 5th June, this week, we will “rebrand” our Monday gathering to be “Coffee and Cake” and will meet from 9.30 am – 12 noon. We have some folk who are able to help with serving the coffee and provide cakes. If you would be able to help with this on an occasional or regular basis
please let me know as soon as you can so that we can put a rota together. We would like to continue to gather on a Monday morning as many have found this a wonderful opportunity to meet together and it has also provided support to Esther and the toddler group with serving coffee.

BBC Songs of Praise
Songs of Praise is coming to Colchester. They will be recording hymns and songs on Saturday 10th June at Castle Park Bandstand, Upper Park, Castle Park, Colchester, CO1 1UN from 13:30 – 16:30. All tickets to the recordings are free of charge. To apply for free tickets, please contact SOPcongregations@afantimedia.tv with your name, contact phone number and the number of tickets you’d like. Please be sure to include ‘Songs of Praise Colchester’ in your subject header. Alternatively, you can call us on 07734 030 888 to book your tickets. If the weather prevents the recordings to be done outside, they will relocate to St Botolph’s Church Colchester. Information will be sent to those with tickets via email.

This week
There will be prayer meetings on Wednesday and Saturday mornings at 9.30am. The Tuesday Bible Study homegroup will also meet this week at 7.30pm. Zoom details for each will be e-mailed early in the week.

With love and blessings.
