Greetings from the manse, in the name of our soon coming King, Jesus Christ who loved us all the way to the cross before we even knew about His love.
I believe God is in the business of talking to the people who belong to the Kingdom and revealing His mind to them if they are ready to listen: “my sheep hear my voice, and I know them and follow me” (John 10:27). We each have a responsibility to create space for God to speak to us and where can we clearly hear what God is saying to us.
We need to create spaces where we can read the word of God and develop a culture where we ask ourselves what God is saying to us from the passage we are reading: “How sweet are your promises to my taste, more than honey to my mouth through your precepts, I get understanding, therefore I hate every false way. Your word is a lamp to my feet, and light to my path” (Plasm 119:103-105). This practice must be started by us as individuals and nurtured by us and alongside others till it becomes part of our daily practice. It is important to allow the Word of God to speak into our lives.
Creating spaces in our busy schedules to spent time with God is important, a time to talk to God about our situations and situations of others in prayer is vital for our growth in our faith or relationship with God. We need to spend more time with God for our understanding and relationship with God to grow. We can start with few moments at a time as a daily practice and grow as we continue to develop in our relationship with God. The space would be different for everyone in time, place, etc.
In our spaces of talking to God and reading the Bible, I would like to encourage us to create a space for God to speak to us. I believe on the 27th of September, we will have the space to listen, pray and share with each other what we are believing to be hearing from God as God guides us on where to focus our resources on, as a church family.
Please pray for the away day for God to open our eyes to see where God is pointing us to and our ears to hear where God is calling us to and for a fresh anointing upon us as a church family for the mission God is calling us to.
