What can you bring to the Kingdom?
Greetings to all of you and your families and friends in the name of our King and Saviour Jesus Christ.
We are called by God to be active partners with Him because each and everyone of us has something to give to the Kingdom. A lot of us sometimes feel like we have nothing to offer because we seem to have what others have to give. God is not calling us to give what we do not have.
“Then the Lord said to him, ‘what is that in your hand?’. ‘A staff’, he replied” Exodus 4:2. God established a working partnership with Moses to deliver the Hebrews from enslavement in Egypt to a promised land. Moses was being reminded that he had something in his hand, together with God Moses and the staff were going to deliver the Hebrews. There were things that Moses did not have like eloquence in speech but that was not going to stop Moses from being a partner with God. God called Aaron in to bring the skills which were not in Moses.
When it came to artistic designs for the table, God called Bezalel (Exodus 35:30-33) not Moses. There is room for all of us to use our gifts and talents to partner with God. In the Plume Avenue family, there is enough space for each and every one of us to flourish and thrive in our gifts and skills given to us by God for Holy use.
There is only one of you in this world and church and the things that you can bring to the kingdom are only found in you. If you do not deploy the gifts given to you by God, the body of Christ will suffer. I call upon us all to have all hands on deck as the captain of the ship leads us on a voyage.
My encouragement from the manse is for us all to bring to the table of God what ever we are able to bring without feeling inferior because of what other people are bringing because your gift matters.
You matter to the life of this Church family, and you are needed and valued by the head of the Church, Jesus Christ our Saviour.
Andrew
