Greetings to you a people who are called by God and belong to God to bring praises, glory and honour to His name in Christ Jesus our Lord (1 Peter 2;9).
As we seek to “know Jesus and make Him known”, I feel it is important for us to be a people that encourage each other in the Lord (Acts 4:36-37). We all need each other to rally behind each other. We are called and blessed by God so that we can be a blessing to other people. I want to urge us as a local church to seek to be a Barnabas to others as Barnabas was to Paul. We need to nurture a culture of encouraging each other. We all need encouragement from the people around us. We do not have to wait for people to be discouraged for us to begin to encourage. We should always be encouraging one another all the time.
We are urged to “encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing” (1 Thessalonians 5:11). It important for us to see to encourage God’s people around us and being intentional about it. Intent always to encourage someone in the church and community you find yourself in.
Encouraging one another should be our daily bread (Hebrews 3:13) as it helps our sisters and brothers “not to be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness”. We can protect people from being hardened by encouraging them in the Lord or building them up.
The best way we can help each and every person in our church to flourish is by seeking intentionally on a day called today to encourage someone every time we gather together.
There is always something that you can say to someone to encourage them even those that we view as strong. Seek always to encourage at every opportunity.
Andrew
