The Venue Hub:
The venue hub will begin on Monday 8th of January and will continue each Monday during term time. It runs from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
What is it?
A time to gather together, bring friends, eat cake, drink tea and coffee, think about the christian faith and what it is to be a follower of Jesus through a short focused discussion, asking questions, sharing and testimony. Pray for others, encourage others….. and so much more.
Also, if you would like to experience church with a difference, why not come along to Venue, our cafe-style church. It happens every 2nd Sunday from 3:30 pm – 5:15 pm. You will find a friendly welcome, Sunday newspapers and refreshments, as well as a range of activities for children. All ages are welcome! Be sure to check out our events page for future events. Ways you get involved and help
It would be fantastic if we at Plume can fill 10 hampers again with seasonal goodies for those who are working through a tailored plan to clear their debts (CAP doesn’t pay them off – we help people plan and budget to set themselves up for the future!).
If you’d find it easier to donate money, we’re also collecting to purchase pre-paid grocery vouchers from the large supermarkets in order for clients to be able to purchase bits for their Christmas dinner.
If (like us) you enjoy shopping for nice treats, anything from the following list brought to church on or before 25th NOVEMBER would be fantastic – though there are a few specific exclusions… and we do ask that all items such as chocolates, mince pies and cake do not contain alcohol. A few gluten free products so some hampers can be made up if needed would also be appreciated. Any questions to Nick and Carole Lettington.

Mission Shaped Ministry
Plume Avenue URC, Chelmsford Diocese, Stanway Evangelical Church and the Colchester Pioneer Hub are delighted to make MSM available in the Colchester area. We believe it will be a significant resource for building the Kingdom of God in this area. Individuals are most welcome, but we particularly hope that small groups from a church or fresh expression will come as this will deepen the impact of the course. For more details, download pdf here and booking form here.
Tony and Jo thought that the idea from mums, of children who attended our summer holiday club, to have a breakfast Alpha was a brilliant idea. So we are. It will give mums time to get children to school and enjoy a breakfast (which often they missed).
It will commence 9.15am on Monday October 8th here at Plume Avenue Church and run for eight weeks excluding half term.
The Alpha course helps people to learn about Jesus through discussion and watching videos. It is very friendly, informal and provides an opportunity to explore the meaning of life.
The mornings will start with breakfast followed by a video before chatting together in small groups with the freedom to ask any questions. If you would like to take part please register at this email address.
